Stanley Register Online - 1956 Schwenksville Meet
Tours
Last update:

An early 3-day steam meet, this one took place Fiday through Sunday. Sept. 14-16, 1956.
Still predating the formation of the Steam Automobile Club of America, this meet drew many of the active steamers in the mid-Atlantic.
17 or 18 Stanleys, and 4 or 5 other steamers made it to Schwenksville.
Earle Eckel drove the fabled 1912 roadster to the meet, then returned home and towed the 1903.
The only scheduled tour was an 84-mile round trip on Saturday to Marshalls' in Yorklyn.
The meet was written up in The Antique Automobile and Light Steam Power magazines.
